Quickly Becoming a Fave: Skull Muscle Tee [outfit]

If you didn't notice in the title, the topic of this post is my newest addition to my closet: this dark gray muscle tee. Seriously, I think I am in love. It's soft, I can dress it up or down, and it can be layered. Want to know the best part? It was $10. TEN. DOLLARS. I almost didn't buy it, but then I was like "wait, it's ten dollars." It's a good thing I came to my senses, because I would be sort of sad without it in my life now! I just bought it a little over a week ago, so hopefully you can still get it if you like it! Also, if you didn't notice in the last post, I did cut my hair! I really wanted a change, and the super long mane I had going on just wasn't making me that happy anymore! So much to manage, plus my hair has to be up for work (and I work 5-6 days a week) so having it all up and it getting tangled just wasn't for me. I am SO glad I cut it. I really do love it-it's crazy how a few inches (okay, more like 5 or 6) of hair being cut off can make you feel different!

Sunday Social-Week 51

Sunday Social

Back at it with the Sunday Social Post!
1. What is your best summer memory as a kid? -Probably going to visit my aunt and uncle in Florida for 2 weeks. I wasn’t really a little kid per se...more like a teenager (about 14 or 15) but that is really one of the only summer memories I have! I got to hang out my with my cousin Ryan, who is a year younger than me, as well as my cousin Grace, who is 2 or 3 years younger than me. Lots of going to the beach and to the water park!
*This was before my breast reduction & that is a henna tattoo haha (before I got my real one!)
Beach pictures at night with my cousins!

2. What is your favorite summer drink? –Berry flavored lemonades or Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade). SO GOOD.
3. What is your favorite summer TV show? –I don’t have a favorite summer TV show…I guess since Pretty Little Liars comes back on in June, it will definitely be that! Shout out to my PLL lovers!

4. What is the best outdoor summer activity? –Playing games in the pool, riding bikes…I mean I can go on and on so basically anything outside!
5. What are your summer vacation essentials? –Lip balm with SPF, sunblock, bathing suit (obvi), an oil absorbingpowder, headbands, sunnies, flip flops, summery dresses…I could go on and on with this too! Those are sort of my essentials that I instantly thought of though! I made a cheesy little collage with some of the essentials. Click the links above to go straight to the product!

Is it sad that doing this post was the most fun I have had all weekend probably?  What can I say... psh. haha. I hope you enjoyed reading!

Keeping it Casual [outfit] and a Little Change!

Hellloooo lovelies! I am back with an outfit post! I have been lacking in that department lately; partly because I moved home for the summer since I am on college break, and just haven't been wearing normal clothes lately (because I am at my job in a restaurant like 6 days out of the week!) and because I have wanted to do more makeup posts! Hopefully someone out there missed these outfit posts! I wore this to run some errands and just relax with family. The top could definitely be made to look more dressy, but I think I made it look pretty casual! Nothing too fancy or exciting, but that basically sums me up :)

Outfit details: Shorts: American Eagle // V-Neck tank top: Love Culture (similar) // Bracelet: Old // Sideways cross necklace: Forever 21 (similar) // Sandals: Black Poppy [old], similar

I can always use a little posing in my life! :) Oh, and those shorts are not as short on me as this picture makes them look!
So this is a completely unflattering picture of me, and the sun is all up in my face-but...notice anything different?

Watch out for a couple new beauty/makeup reviews coming up!
Thanks for reading!

Makeup Talk: Everyday Minerals Mineral Makeup Review and Demo

It's no secret that I love makeup...love love love it. However, I always go through phases where I become super conscious of what I am putting on my skin. I have never been one to hate on drugstore beauty products, but I do like higher-end products when I can afford them, and when the ingredients make up for the price. The past few years I have wanted to use more natural products, and I have experimented with a few different brands-but just can't settle on one I love, so I go back to the products that may not have the "safest" ingredients, according to websites, news story's, etc. With all that being said, I think its about time that I get back into incorporating the mineral products I have been searching for these past few years! This is where experimentation comes in, and today, I want to talk about Everyday Minerals Mineral Makeup*. Hopefully I don't make this too long, and pictures will be helpful in my descriptions! I encourage you to read about EM here; as I would encourage you to read up on any other makeup brands you are interested in!

**A few things to keep in mind: I am being completely honest in my opinions-I wouldn't mislead anyone for any reason, and I definitely wouldn't spend all the time I have making this review if I didn't mean it! Also, my eyebrows are crazy. Seriously. I need them shaped but they just haven't grown in enough (and they just needed to be tamed a bit!) Finally, the last thing I wanted to say is ignore my gross nails. Summer job=lots of hand washing which = dry skin, chipped polish, and pure laziness (hey, why repaint if they will just get chipped again?) :)

First off is face products! Before doing the mineral makeup I applied my primer by The Body Shop called "Tea Tree Pore Minimiser". After it dried and soaked into my skin, I moved on to foundation and everything else!
1: Starting off with a white shadow stick to brighten my waterline. For some reason I like to start with this step! I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk".
2: A quick look at what I am working with. A little redness, uneven skin tone, and dark circles. My dark circles are actually terrible, but I think this shot at least shows them a little! I also have large pores, and oily skin, so I like to use foundation to help control the oiliness.
3: Thank you concealer! I always make it a point to conceal my under eye circles, as well as concealing my eyelids which have a bit of redness and visble veins. I used a mixture of Maybelline Superstay 24 hours Concealer and Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Concealer.
4: This was after the application of the EM "Matte Base" (mineral foundation) in the shade "Golden Fair". I used an Everyday Minerals Flat Top Brush that I bought a few years ago to buff in the foundation using circular motions,  until I got the coverage I wanted.
5: Bronzer time! I use a "3-E" technique to bronze my face. I wanted to add a little bronzer because with my self-tanner that I had applied to my body, my face was a bit lighter than my body, as was the foundation (this isn't fully showing in picture !) If anyone is interested in the "3-E" technique, let me know!
6: Application of blush; for this look I used the sheen blush from EM in the shade "Snuggle". I think it is the perfect color for spring and summer!

These are the color items I used for this look; the blush is "Snuggle", the first eyeshadow is "Laptop", second is "Me & You" and the third is "Silent Current".

For the eye makeup I kept it super simple because I had to work. I used a really light hand and applied "laptop" all over my whole lid, and then "you & me" from the inner corner of my eye to the center. I used an angled eyeliner brush to apply "silent current" under my lower lash line. I chose to use all of these products dry instead of using water or a makeup spray which would make them even more pigmented.
Finished look! My main focus for the eyes was definitely the eyeliner; I also didn't get a good picture of the eyeshadow outside because it was so bright out! Now, if you are still here, thanks for reading all this time! I have a quick review of the products for you, as well as some swatches.

I would say that the eyeshadow and blush are both very pigmented. Like I said, I used them dry, but I know from experience that mixing them with water or a makeup spray will make them more pigmented and even longer lasting. The foundation had a matte finish, but I don't think I looked dull. If you look at the pictures of my skin, it still seemed like I had some sort of glow! The lasting power of the foundation and finishing dust is good; I wore it to work a few times and it seemed to wear well; I didn't see shine for about 5 hours, which is good for me, and blotting with tissue paper took the shine right away! After working 8 hours in a hot restaurant, I still had a majority of the makeup on, which is great for mineral makeup, as I have noticed most wear off through the day. I haven't experienced any break outs or other skin problems either. The reason I don't have pictures of the foundation I was sent is because it came adorable little sealed packages, with a cute design on them...and I just blanked out and forgot to take pictures! One thing to take note of is that if you are deciding between two shades and just can't make up your mind (if you aren't going to buy samples first), I say go with the lighter one versus a darker one. I say this because it's better/easier to have a lighter shade and use a bronzer to warm your face up than a terribly dark shade! I would definitely recommend this brand and these products to anyone who is looking into mineral foundation!

Swatches of the Everyday Minerals products!

I really hope this is helpful to someone out there! I enjoy doing reviews and letting you know my thoughts on products, and I hope this wasn't too long, I just want to be thorough! Please let me know if you liked this length of a review and give me any tips or suggestions if you have some!

*These products were sent to me for consideration. I did not get compensated for this post, and have actually bought from this company before! All thoughts are my own and honest!

Thanks for reading,

Sunday Social and Life Lately/Ramble!

Sunday Social

It's Sunday...which means it is finally time for Sunday Social (yay!) I absolutely love doing this link-up, and you probably know that because I think I have said it multiple times now! On to this weeks questions...

1. 1 year ago I was doing... I was on summer break from college, working my butt off, and spending time with family!

2. 5 years ago I was doing...I was in high school still, working my butt off (hard worker over here), and trying to make some memories!

3. 10 years ago I was doing...I was probably doing gymnastics, reading a lot of books, and spending time with family and friends!

4. 1 year from now I'll be doing...I will be [hopefully] working a co-op job for nursing! Fingers crossed!

5. 5 years ago I'll be doing...I will be working as an RN, starting a family, and paying off lovely student loans.

6. 10 years from now I'll be doing...Exactly ten years? Hopefully I will be planning a nice vacation:) Still working as an RN, hopefully succeeding as a respected nurse, raising a family and making memories!

Those questions really make you think! It is just so hard to think about stuff like that though, so I find it hard to elaborate! I really wanted to include some pictures, but the flash drive with all my older photos is MIA. Great. Anyways, today is also a special day...Mother's Day! So Happy Mothers Day to all of you mommas out there! What are your plans? Any special ideas set up? I hope it is a great day for you!

Now for the random rambling...If you have a blog, do you ever get so overwhelmed by the things you want to post and have planned, but it's just so much that you don't know where to start? Between two jobs right now, and editing the pictures I took for my sister and her fiance, I feel so overwhelmed! There is literally at least 4 posts that I would love to have up this week...but they all take extensive editing, planning, taking notes, etc-as they are makeup reviews. I just don't know where to start, which leads me to my current situation-having barely any progress made! What do you do when you feel like you have so many things to do? I know it is my blog, so I can post whenever I want, but still! I would like to have interesting content on here! In the mean time, I would love to hear tips for managing busy schedules, keeping up with blogs, etc. Share your secrets!

Thanks for reading!

Sequins, Brights, and Stripes, Oh MY!

You know how you have those days where you want to be a bum all day, wear comfy clothes, and not do anything? Well, I had one of those days. I needed to run a few errands, so I wanted to at least look presentable. Lucky for me, I have some extremely comfy options to give my sweatpants or yogas (which I am wearing 3 days out of the week anyways!) a break, and they just so happen to be gracing my blog today!
