Wild Child Tunic and a Little Shop Love! [Outfit]

Oh hai! It's time for another outfit post, and this one I have seriously been so antsy about posting. I don't want to have my blog just be about outfits, or have similar posts consecutively, but this time, I am letting it slide! If you have been following my blog for awhile, you would know that I have talked about Monica a few times. Not only does she have a fun, interesting blog, but she is super sweet and always seems to have a second for a conversation (that doesn't always happen in the bloggy world!) She was one of the reasons I started to blog, but we won't get all sappy here...instead, I wanted to talk about her little boutique that she started-and seriously how excited I am for her! Such a dream for me! Her boutique has variety, it's on trend, and she updates it often. Is Monica paying me to say this? No. Did I buy the top that I am about to show you? Sure did! I just want to give her a little spotlight because it is one of those "little stores" that deserves a little more attention! I think you would find something you loved and would like to see in your wardrobe if you stopped by her online boutique-the place has everything. Tops, bottoms, dresses, accessories, shoes...what more could a girl want?! If I wasn't on a college girl budget, I would probably buy nearly everything in her store! If you want to check it out, you can find it at: http://shopmce.com. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time...and maybe you'll find a new favorite shop!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you take a look at Monica's Closet Essentials!

Chiffon and Studs [Outfit]

Whew. I made it past Monday. I never thought I would be someone to always dislike Mondays, but they are really the start to my ridiculous schedule. Luckily, my schedule tends to only be super hectic and crammed Monday-Wednesday, with early classes, studying, and doing my clinical rotation at the hospital. Once Wednesday night rolls around, I can breathe a little, and catch up on homework and relaxing (just a bit!) All this chaos means posts may not be as frequent as I like, but hey, college is more important [and who out there even reads this here blog frequently? :) ] Some how though, I managed to get a post together, so wah-la!

LOVE the studs on the collar!
Someone needs to tame those fly-aways...

Makeup Talk: NYX Powder Blush in "Bourgeois Pig"

Hey! Long time no makeup review! Today, I wanted to review one of my favorite affordable blushes for anyone who is interested! I have a mixture of high and low end beauty products, and this definitely includes blushes. Blushes and foundations are my weakness. I always am looking for the "perfect" one. This blush is in the running for being nearly perfect...but let me break the details down for you!

 Price: $5.00
Amount: 0.14 oz (4 grams)
Finish:  Matte with a glow (is this even possible?!)
Pigmentation: Great. It is buildable, but I find that I only slightly dab my blush brush into it, and then tap off the excess- for each cheek.

Wear time: 6+ hours. I honestly don't time the hours I have my makeup on...but I do know that when I get ready at 7 a.m and finish classes for the day, sometimes I won't wash my makeup off until 9 or 10...and the blush is still there. Not perfect, but it really can rival high end brands! Granted, I wear a primer basically anytime I wear foundation, blush, etc. so that could increase wear time. If you are happy with your foundation routine and think it holds up throughout the day, then putting any blush over it should give you a long last result, as long as the blush is of good quality!
Irritation: None for me. I haven't had any issues with it causing any breakouts or irritation!

Using a light hand for everyday application gives me this result. See the glow I am talking about? I have oily skin and do not think this accentuates it or makes me look more oily.

Do I recommend this? Of course! If you are looking for an affordable line of blushes, I do recommend NYX's line of powder blushes!

Any product review requests? Just let me know! Thanks for reading!

Sunday Social-Fall Questions!

1. What is your favorite fall activity? Probably helping my younger family get ready for Halloween! I love helping with any makeup they need done for their outfits! I also love Halloween in general! This fall season though will revolve a lot around my sisters wedding! She is getting married at the end of October and her wedding will be Halloween and fall themed, so I am sure I will enjoy the {stressful} but fun process of helping her with that!

2. Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why? I wouldn’t say I completely follow them, but two teams I do watch are the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bearcats! I am studying nursing at The University of Cincinnati, so I am a Bearcat myself-hence me following that team...and I am from Ohio so that also makes Ohio State a team to watch! :)

3. What is something fun about fall in your area? It’s actually the very end of fall, and extending through winter, but still! It would probably be the Cincinnati zoo lights, which is when the zoo decks out the area with lights, and its gorgeous at night! I have yet to go, because it always seems to be super busy and draws a lot of attraction, but maybe I will go this year!

4. What are your favorite fall staple outfits? Boots with jeans or thick leggings (as long as the butt is covered ladies!) I really have a hard time NOT wearing boots every single day from fall-winter. A lot of my staple products are on my pinterest boards, and I take a lot of inspiration from pinterest as well as fashion bloggers that have similar style to me!

5. What things are you looking forward to most about this coming fall season? Fall fashion, lots of hot apple cider, and how gorgeous my campus looks when all the leaves start changing!

A picture of a part of my campus I took last fall!

6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Tradition? I think it would have to be Thanksgiving and Halloween. I can’t choose. Halloween is just so fun and interesting when it comes to everyone’s costume choices; Thanksgiving is greeeaaaaat because I get a little break from college and get to see family…and that includes extended family, so it’s nice to get everyone together for a day!

Lets Talk About Stripes, Baby! [outfit]

A little birdie told me that fall is just around the corner. Am I ready? Duh! That is like asking me if I love chocolate! I will miss being able to just lay in the sun with a book, but lets be real, I only did that once or twice anyways. I am all about boots, layers, and scarves, so I am pretty excited for fall to roll around. With all that being said, I would say this is probably one of the last semi-summery outfit posts I will be doing! I am pretty sure that this post includes two items I will be wearing completely out this fall-the striped top and my new Sperry's. I never thought I would be a Sperry girl, but a few weeks ago I went to the mall with a friend, and I spotted these bad boys. I thought, "I will just try them on, it's not like I have ever even gave them a chance..." well less than 5 minutes later I was making the purchase. I don't get it. I didn't even think I liked Sperry's, but then I put them on and my fashion heart melted a little. So that's the explanation behind that purchase. The top was also a new purchase, and had the other top I spotted not been so expensive, I am sure I would be featuring that on here too! I also couldn't decide if I wanted to wear my sandals or my Sperry's with this outfit, and honestly, I like both. This would be a situation where I may walk to class in sandals, finish class, then change shoes for my next class. If you are thinking I am a terrible decision maker, you are so right. Don't hate me for the picture heavy post, again, I just am horrible at choosing!

All about the details.
The switch.
My excitement is actually real...I think I like these shoes!
Top: Jcrew // Shorts: Wallflower (Kohls) // Necklace: Forever 21, old // Earrings: They were a gift! // Sandals: Walmart (similar) // Sperry's: Nordstrom //

What is your opinion? Sperry's or the sandals?
