"Falling" in Love with Fall Outfits

Does anyone know what is colorful, mild in nature, pretty, and coming up? Guesses?
FALL! It is right around the corner. So, in anticipation for the cooler and mild weather coming up, I wanted to do a post about some clothing I have been eying! If you saw my "so summer is almost over...' post, you may have seen some outfits I think are just gorgeous for fall! If you liked it, then here is another post for you, with {hopefully} just as cute outfits! I plan on doing a few more of these fall outfit posts, so I will keep this short!

I love tan leather jackets. Just putting that out there-but I really like the style of this one:
I honestly do not know the brand, because I found it randomly on Google, and it said it was selling for $170. So, I am sure it is probably real leather! I think this would go really well with this ruffled top. I would then pair it with a pair of dark wash jeans, and maybe some brown boots.  Next, I stumbled upon more designer clothing by Buffalo Jeans and found this sheer button up that I think would look GREAT slightly tucked in to jeans, and with a burgandy scarf like this:
from Forever 21. I would wear either a flesh-tone tanktop under the sheer top, or a black bandeau. You could wear some heals with it for a night out, or, to keep it casual for daytime, wear some cute boots like these beauties from stevemadden. com. This next outfit I found online, and couldn't even use it for inspiration, because I loved it all so much!

It is really simple, but so pretty. I am not a huge fan of flare jeans, so I would opt for a similar color and wash, but as a boot leg or skinny jean [especially if I would want to tuck them into the boots!] This last look I am not sure everyone will like-but hey, I am still a little bit on the fence too, so you can tell me what you think! It is always fun to try a new trend, so what-the-heck!
The faux fur vest is from Forever 21, I am not sure if they even still sell it; again, I would pair this outfit with the boots mentioned from stevemadden.com. I think it would be nice to belt the vest for a tighter fit, but I would also wear the vest open. To tie it all together, the burgundy colored nail polish would add a great finishing touch! I would want a faux fur vest, because I am not sure how I would feel with real animal fur keeping me warm...that's kind of gross ha. But anyways, that is all for this post, le tme know what you think!

Also, I feel like I always put a billion pictures in every post I have, so I decided to use more links this time instead. Comments? Do you like it that way, or with my usual billion pictures?

Liebster Award : )

I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award…twice! So I decided to answer both sets of questions the girls asked, but will only do 11 random facts about myself (because I am not too sure I can come up with 22!) Thanks to Jennifer at Little Miss Alizzi for nominating me first, and to Becca at Beginning with Becca for nominating me recently! It was so sweet of them to nominate me:)  I will start with Jennifer’s questions first!
1. What is your favorite store to shop at? Probably Forever 21, H&M, and Express. But really, I am not too picky! If a store has great deals, I am there!
2. What is favorite type of Food? CHOCOLATE! Does that count? If not, then cheeses, and pasta. MMMM.
3. What is your Fav. Summer activity? Just being able to relax in general and not have to worry about college classes for a few months.
4. What is your biggest pet peeve? When people lie, hurt others, or act like someone they are not. Are those pet peeves?!
5. What color best describes you? A few. White- it’s pure, in that I am honest. I don’t lie to others and never intentionally hurt someone’s feelings. I would also say lavender. I am very calm, and go with the flow; I am not wild and all over the place [but sometimes I wish I was a little more wild because I feel boring at times : (  ]

Next, we have Becca’s questions:

1.     Why did you start blogging? I was reading other girls blogs, and it seemed interesting to do. Also, I watched youtube beauty videos for years, and new I was too shy to make beauty videos, so the blog was easier for me!
2. How did you come up with your blog name? I thought it sounded nice-no one should be told what is beautiful and what isn’t; beauty isn’t this constrained definition with specific guidelines. So many things are beautiful and it shouldn’t be limited to this or that!
3. What is your favorite part about blogging? No one can tell me what to do or write about. Unless I am answering questions like this haha
4. Are there any parts of blogging that you do not like/get annoyed with? Other bloggers that act like they are the best of the best. Everyone is good at blogging in their own way, everyone has a different approach.
5. Have you met any friends through blogging? Hmm hard to answer. There is definitely blogs I follow and love, and am pretty close in age to the bloggers, so I can relate and would love to meet them! But, I have not actually literally “”met” someone.
6. What is your favorite thing to do on your down time? Watch youtube videos, read a book (when I have no college classes-so when I am on some sort of holiday break), and catch up on other blogs.
7. What is your favorite holiday and why? Christmas or Thanksgiving, because all my family is pretty much at one place at one time, and because of the FOOD! You know I love my food!<----Holiday dessers specifically, oh, and cheese ball with crackers. Mmmm.
8. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Graduated from college with a job as an RN. Engaged to be married (if not already married) and enjoying life!
9. If you could choose one celebrity to be best friends with, who would it be? Uh I may not be able to answer this. There are too many celebrities and circumstances. If I had to pick off the top of my head, the first person that pops up is Demi Lovato. She seems nice and down to earth!
10. What is your dream vacation? Well, after following Andee Layne’s blog, it seems like the Caymen Islands is amazing. Also, Hawaii looks gorgeous! One of those two probably. Shoot, or Paris.
11. If you could have your dream job, what would it be and why? Working with newborns. I don’t even know what specifically I would like to be doing, but I adore babies so much! I plan on working on the Neonatal floor as a nurse, but, if I had some dream job that actually paid a great salary, I would want it to be babysitting newborns haha.

11 random facts about me:
1.     I love chocolate, cheese, and pasta way more than I should.
2.     I am going to school to be a registered nurse.
3.     I am too full right now, because about an hour and a half ago (yeah, still full) I ate a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, and so did my roommate. But we had leftover soup, and nothing to eat it with, so we made ANOTHER sandwich and split it. Now I don’t want to do my ab workout : (
4.     I HATE driving. Especially in my college town I am living at. It’s so busy all the time, I am literally scared to leave to do anything.
5.     I am putting off reading two chapters of Genetics so I can do this post.
6.     I wish people communicated more to me! I love to talk to followers of my blog, and always comment on my favorite blogs.
7.     I am having trouble thinking of random facts.
8.     I rarely ever style my hair. I don’t like putting heat on it, so I usually just let it air dry and just wear it however it dried. Sometimes it isn’t very cute.
9.     I want to be a nurse, but sometimes I get so stressed, and don’t enjoy being at college, and just hate all the hard work it takes to become a nurse. Those are the times I ask myself “why am I putting myself through this?” or “why does all my friends get to enjoy their college experience and I don’t?” But then I will do well on an exam and I feel better.
10.  I want to live in Kentucky or Tennessee when I graduate. Or Columbus, Ohio. Who knows, those are just a few ideas! [I already live in Ohio].
11.  I have the biggest heart ever, and some people, even those I care about most, take advantage of it sometimes.
That is all for the questions I was asked!

and here is what you do if you are nominated:
1. Link back to the person who gave the award to you... they deserve the love too!
2. Post the award on your blog for all to see.
3. Give the award to 5 of your favorite bloggers... ideally with 200 followers or less.
4. Leave a comment on your chosen 5 blogs to let them know they've been awarded.
5. List 11 random facts about your pretty little self and post 5 questions for your 5 favorite bloggers.

Five Questions for my nominees!
1.     What is one weakness and one strength you know you have?
2.     What are your 3 favorite makeup products, and what is your favorite item of clothing?
3.     What is your favorite picture of yourself? [Insert here!]
4.     Do you trust horoscopes, why or why not?
5.     Tell me your dream life-or at least where you want to be in 10 years.

5 blogs I nominate:
 Madison at Ms. Madison Claire
Kelsie at My Beautiful Life
Emily at Describing Beauty
Jordan at Dragonfly Tales

I hope you enjoy this post! If I nominated you, enjoy answering your questions! Make sure to take a look at all the blogs I nominated, and the bloggers that nominated me!
Sorry this is so long, I wanted to answer all their questions!

Sunday Social : )

1. What is the first website you log into each day?
Either blogger.com, yahoo.com, or twitter!

2. Give us some funny websites that you visit that we need to know about.
I used to go to bored.com and there was all sorts of funny things on there- but that was years and years ago! Now, the only sites that I do look at funny things on would be pinterest, or youtube! I just browse and stumble from one thing to another!

3. Pinterest or Facebook? Why?
Ugh. Pinterest. I really do not like Facebook. I have it, but only am keeping it until I download all my pictures onto a cd or something! Facebook is just so drama filled, and people are just nosey! Pinterest is fun to occupy yourself with, look up DIY things, or post blog things to!

4. Twitter or Instagram? Why?
Probably twitter. Instagram is awesome and all, buuuuuuut twitter is a lot more interesting!

5. Favorite YouTube video. Post it!

This is Spandy Andy! He had a corporate job, hated it, and became a street dancer. He just likes to make people smile, and he dances around to do it : ) I watched like every one of his videos one day, and it cheered me up so much!

Skyscraper by Demi Lovato... gives me chills everytime I listen to it!

Meet Kandee Johnson. Youtuber, blogger, momma, and all around amazing person. She is super inspirational, and I love her videos. This one especially! WARNING: Even after months of not watching this, I still feel the need to randomly say "Whats that in your eye? It's the fourth of July". ITS CATCHY!

6. Biggest online pet peeve?
Spam. Ads that you have to watch the full amount of time, instead of skipping after a few seconds!
Yay for finally being able to do the Sunday Social! I have missed it a few times lately, with work, moving, and classes starting!

Once Upon a Time...

I won a bracelet! This was forever ago, and I wanted to have a post showing the bracelet I won from Emily at The Sweetest Thing. I had pictures taken wearing the bracelet just a day after I received it! I didn't really like how the pictures turned out, so I never posted them, hoping I could just re-take them. Well-that never happened, so finally, whether I like these pictures or not, I think it is time I post these bad boys and show a little thanks to EMILY for having the giveaway! Also, thanks to GlamourMe Jewels on etsy for supplying the bracelet for the giveaway! The bracelet is such nice quality, cute, affordable, and versatile. I think I may wear it tonight! Pictures:

Such bad lighting-sorry!

Close-up shot of the bracelet! So cute, I was SOOO happy to win it!

 What I wore with it.

You know, lookin' mad because the sun is in your eyes...

These are the only pictures I have from that day. Terrible- I really don't like them, hence the delay! But I am so thankful for the giveaway : ) I never win anything so it is pretty awesome that I won a cute bracelet! My maxi dress is from Wal Mart in case you were curious-I know, they are stepping their game up! Now go on to Emily's blog [because it is one of my favorites] and go check out the GlamourMe Jewels etsy shop!

All Moved In!

So, as the title of this post suggests... I am all moved into my new apartment! It is so cute-brand new, no one has ever lived in it. Four bedrooms, and four baths [all four of us girls can stay out of each others way, right?] I moved in this past Saturday, and have just been organizing, setting up, and lounging around! I am so excited, I snapped a few pictures on my iPhone, so take a look! [There will be more pictures as I decorate more, especially our living room!]
A little chair; closet and the sticker decoration I put over the door.

   Bathroom and my desk.
  Bed, dresser, and night stand!
Living room, kitchen, and little dining area.

That is all the pictures I have for my apartment.. but you know I have more pictures of random stuff!

one: AMAZING black bean burger with Taz sauce// two: Myself; I thought the lighting turned out pretty awesome, and I did not edit it, so it's pretty neat// three: pretty sky [no edit] // four: I made my own egg salad today, pretty proud of it! // five: The egg salad on muh bread// six: My dad, step mom, and little brother after I moved into my apartment// seven: Drinking coffee with my brother before I moved away// eight: my dad made me breakfast a week or so ago, and he did it VERY good job!

My little brother Sammy is too cute to not use all these pictures!
You can't tell me that face is not precious. Also, he is literally the smartest little kid I know. I am not saying that because he is my brother, he is honestly just a little genius. He just turned four Sunday!

Quick Makeup of today! Simple simple simple! Clearprep FX Matte Foundation Primer and Anti-Acne Treatment (sample from Sephora)// Maybelline Fit Me Foundation// Hard Candy Concealer// Physicians Formula Powder (can't find exact name, and it's not on their website : (  ) // Neutrogena black eyeliner // ELF Blush in "Pink Passion". I put a little bit of the Benefit Hoola Bronzer in my crease on my eyelids. Like I said, super simple!

I hope everyone is having a nice week so far! I wanted to get some sort of post up, but don't worry, I will have a GOOD post up soon, once I finished getting completely settled in : )

Moving!

Into my new apartment tomorrow, and tonight I am staying at my dads place... so, no wifi for me (his wifi won't work for my laptop somehow!) So I just wanted to make a quick post to say once I am all settled in, I can hopefully update my blog with some pictures of the new place? Ehhh? Also, I have a few posts in mind, so look out for those! In the meantime, comment, tweet, or email me and we can chat! While I won't have wifi, I don't mind using the data on my iphone to reply on social networking sites : D What is everyone up to this week?

Love at first sight...

compliments of Ikea. My first time going there was today. How in the world have I never been there before?! Also, why did I not go BEFORE I already bought most of the stuff I needed for moving into my apartment this weekend? I wanted so much there! Since I am still SO excited about going there, and want to sort of "save" some of my 'wants' from there for future reference, I'll indulge you all with some of those goodies : ) Feel free to send me a link of something you love from there!

Source: ikea.com via Kelsey on Pinterest

Do you see this!? It's like a little tiny dresser PLUS a jewelry box. I adore this. I already have a jewelry box, but I would not mind having this too! You could put necklaces, rings, bracelets, you name it-it would be awesome! I think I would also put headbands, hair ties, and bobby pins in one of the drawers. It would be nice to just have all the little accessories in one place, so they don't get misplaced. Plus, it is nice if you have more "luxurious" or valuable/sentimental items put in a proper place.

Is it wrong that I could barely walk away from this duvet cover and pillowcases?
Source: ikea.com via Kelsey on Pinterest

I just kept imagining this with tan accent pillows-it seemed so clean, a little beachy. If there was one thing I wanted to take home with me more than anything, it was this! What do you think about it?(If someone wants to buy me this, I am NOT objecting ;)   )

Want to see something I actually did buy, since I didn't get one yet for my apartment bathroom?

Source: ikea.com via Kelsey on Pinterest

This little cutie. Simple, affordable, and just enough design to look nice in my bathroom! My step mom also bought one!

Source: ikea.com via Kelsey on Pinterest

I think this would go great with the duvet cover... I want it all so bad! I really want to redecorate my bedroom now haha.
Now you all know the things I am pretty much drooling over at Ikea...and counting down the days until I go back!

My Weekend and What I Will Be Doing ALL WEEK

Hey there! First off... I missed Sunday Social : ( Seriously one of my favorite type of posts to do! Is it wrong to do a belated Sunday Social and just not link-up? Hmmm. Anyways, I missed the link up because I was visiting with my dad, and their wifi won't work on my laptop! Such a bummer. I used so much data probably on my iphone checking twitter and instagram, so I didn't want to try posting anything for the blog via phone! Does anyone remember me posting on twitter that since I got an iphone finally, I'd post a lot more on instagram? Well- maybe that hasn't increased much, but that doesn't mean I haven't taken a million and one pictures! I think everone knows by now (if you have been following me awhile) that I like having tons of pictures in posts! Soooo if you are ready to be visually entertained...
So maybe this set of pictures isn't exactly from this past weekend-but it was recent! One of my brothers and I, together at a county fair; My brother sipping on his coffee (our family LOVES coffee...even at a county fair when it is 90 degrees); Caleb (brother) with my dads dog Jake. Jake has an inoperable tumor on his snout, and he was just adoring Caleb, cuddling up next to him! Can we all think happy thoughts for Jake? Poor guy could use so positive thoughts : (

On a lighter note, random pictures from the past week: From top left to bottom right: My nephew Kierce had me read to him (he is such a HAM!) Avocado sushi (the only "sushi" I will touch). My two brothers just being cuties in the car. Myself and the boyfriend after he FINALLY got back from Cancun.
I made a deal with myself at the beginning of summer. Save EVERYTHING I make from working as a waitress-except the loose change. Then, all the change at the end of summer would be spending money. I actually didn't stray too far from that deal with myself. I spent maybe $200 on miscellaneous things this summer (snacks, some gas, a makeup item or two, and a few other things here and there). However... I had A LOT less change than I thought I would. I guess that is good, because I had way more bills, instead of people leaving me change. So, I cashed in my $63 in change, and bought 3 shirts from H&M, a MAC lipstick, and a face primer and makeup bag from the body shop (2 items for $10 total!) this past weekend when some of my family and I went to the mall.

Top left: UD Naked Skin Foundation Sample, & Cover FX Matte Primer something something something : ) ;  brown thing=a thing to help do buns (bought it four my cousin!); random lotion sample; shoes my mom bought me from Journeys for $10!; MAC bag; The Body Shop products.

The new lipstick I got! MAC "Hot Gossip" which is a cremesheen. I adore it! The bottom picture of me wearing it is obviously a little off. Keep an eye out for a post about my favorite items recently, and you should see it more true to color!

Tired of pictures yet? Almost done : )

What I wore! Sheer navy top from Abercrombie, shorts from American Eagle, necklace from Forever 21, and shoes from Payless!

Quick family pic before leaving the mall!

That is everything from my weekend-as for what I will be doing all week and upcoming weekend? Packing, getting stuff done, and cleaning because Saturday I move into my apartment! Yay! Can't wait to show some pictures!

Xo, Kels

If you made it all the way through, I hope you enjoyed!

So Summer is Almost Over.. Sort of...

Right? To me it seems like summer is coming to an end. Maybe it is because I move into my new apartment on the 18th, or that classes start the 27th, but it seems like summer is about dunzo (Laguna Beach anyone?)-------->
Anyways. I have already started looking into "fall"-esque things. Clothing, decorations, food, makeup, etc. So in honor of my possibly too-early planning/thoughts/wants, I wanted to do a post about some of the stufffffff.

MAKEUP:
  • Something minimal. A barely there look, just fresh faced-you, but enhanced!
  •   Still natural, a little bronzer here and there, and maybe a light wash of color on the eyelids, but with a bold lip. I am really liking purple hues!

I like the shade "14" from the above link. I think if you put a layer on, used a tissue or paper towel to dab some of the color off, and then put another LIGHT layer over top, it would not only look nice, but would also last longer because of the layering!
Mac "Captive" lipstick would also be so pretty!
Frosty beige/gold based lipsticks also are nice for fall... something like this:
Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Natural "N2 - Iridescent Beige"

But don't get me wrong, a great pink will still be awesome for fall-or all year around!

Clothing:
Definitely my go to look, hands down, will be something like this...
I mean how classy, sophisticated, and gorgeous! I would love to rock the vest and jacket, with the tie barely peaking out! Oh, and that hat? Don't get me started! Where can I find this whole look?!

............YEAH GIRLLLLL. I am completely joking; this look is hideous to me... but I am sure someone brilliant could alter it and sort of replicate it : )

Anyways, on to something more me:

May or may not be drooling over all these...could I win the lotto for instant shopping money? Please? No? Alright. I'll just have to wait.
Did I mention this was going to be a lengthy post? Welllllll I hope you stick around till the end!

Food:
Pumpkin Cinnamin Rolls with Caramel Frosting
No, I am not kidding. This exists. MMMM.
Find this yummy recipe here.

Apple Cranberry Currant Crumble Pie
Apple Cranberry Currant Crumble Pie
Uhm... imagine this with vanilla bean ice cream.
Find the recipe here.

068
Leftover Mashed Potato Soup
I love anything potato so...sign me up.
Find out how to make this delcious-ness here!

Oh my... hot apple cider. My love, yum.
Did I mention I am officially turning my blog into a food blog? Well, I am not. But still, this food is enough to make me do it.
Click me! Click me! to see how to make this : )

I have to end this post now-I not only am hungry and thirsty at this point, but I want like $25 lipstick and probably $2000 worth of fall clothes. So... stopping now.
Feel free to leave a comment so we can TALK! Or, just let me know how hungry you are now.

Sunday Social-Week 9!

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite Fall activity?
Helping the little ones in my family get ready for Halloween, the actual day of trick-or-treating, shopping for fall clothes (I consider that an activity haha), making/eating food for the cooler months!

 2. Do you follow a football team? if so which one and why?
Not a super follower, but I do keep up with Ohio State (because it is my state and I have grown up watching them) and Cincinnati Bearcats-my university.

 3. What is something fun about Fall in your area?
Besides the regular trick-or-treating for Halloween, we also have a couple different "scary" things you can do, like go to a haunted cornfield (where they chase you with a real chainsaw-without the chain on it of course- or you can go through pitch black building with occasional strobe lights, metal music and constant scaring from people jumping out at you!), go to a haunted maze, or on the totally not scary side, go to the maple syrup festival and get fresh syrup!

4. Fav Fall outfit staples?
Things with color schemes like : cream colors with browns and neutrals, and burgundy or cranberry.  I also like navy a lot in the fall!

A good pair of boots are nice:

Peacoats also are one of my favorite staples!
Source: jcrew.com via Kelsey on Pinterest

5. Thing you are looking forward to most about this coming Fall season?
Drinking warm apple cider...cute fall clothes, and thanksgiving!

 6. Favorite Fall holiday? Traditions?
Thanksgiving & the food, traditions-I don't think we really have any... besides drinking apple cider, the little kids going trick-or-treating. I am boring! : )

Go link up if you haven't, I really enjoy doing these!

I am obsessed with adding pictures to my blog posts, but sometimes I feel it can be a wittle toooooo obsessive, and I wouldn't want to scare anyone away with a post containing one sentence and 15 pictures, you know? So go to my pinterest and follow me if you enjoy my blog! On to pictures from pinterest of course:
